Pastor Brenda's Prayer Request

Good evening!

Alex asked me if I would give an update to the group regarding the situation with my brother. First, allow me to express my greatest gratitude for all of the prayers and support. So many people not only prayed but asked others to pray as well. Those prayers have really carried my brother and the entire family through this difficult season. I am so grateful!

I spoke with Rodney on Sunday evening. He is taking one day at a time as he works through all of the details that one has to do after losing a loved one. Joelle's son, Riley, is staying at the house with him. Riley owns a home but is in between jobs right now. So, my brother has suggested to him that he stay there for a while and rent his house to help pay the mortgage and possibly make some extra cash.

I spoke with my brother about coming to visit him for a few weeks in late July, early August. I have an anonymous donor who is going to help pay for my flight from IL to San Antonio and from San Antonio back to San Juan. But, I need some help to get to Florida first. As all of this began to unfold, I have a college bestie who will be driving her mom back to IL mid July and has offered for me to tag along so I can surprise my mom with a short visit. I have not seen my mom since I came back to PR in 2014. So, this will be quiet the shock.
Right now, it is showing that I can take an American flight to Tallahassee for $303. If you are willing to help with this expense, or any of the normal travel expenses one would have, you can send me a gift via:
PayPal.me/thejourneyministries
Venmo: 787.587.2371 or Brenda-Taylor-328
Please note that these are not tax exempt.  All of the tax exempt gifts I receive go through my home church in IL.
Also, I know that some people in the states use Zelle. I do not have access to Zelle but can make arrangements for a payment through one of my supporters if that is your best option. You may contact me directly and I can send the information.

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for all of your prayers and support!!

Thank you all for your prayers. My SIL, Joelle's car has been located. She was in the vehicle but not alive. She left for work at 5am and rounded a curve right into the water. They found her about 4 mikes away. We grieve with my brother Rodney, her two children and the entire family. This is a double gut punch because tomorrow,  June 16th, would have been their 6th wedding anniversary.  I will continue to appreciate and covet your prayers and those of the church family.

Good afternoon!

Please accept my apologies for using this email to submit a prayer request but my family could use the prayers of all the saints!

My mom called me this morning. My sister in law was on her way to work this morning (June 15) when she unknowingly drove down a road that had flooded. She is a pediatric nurse at a hospital in San Antonio. The incident was in the area of Bandera where they live. I'm assuming that it was dark and she didn't see the washed out road. Joelle, my SIL, called my brother and he had her hang up and call 911. They stayed on the phone with her until the phone dropped. They have been actively searching for her since this morning.
I spoke very briefly with my brother, Rodney. He said the area where she was is near a creek but the creek has never flooded. So, this is a freak occurrence. Please pray for them and the family, along with the search and rescue team. I covet your prayers and the prayers of your warriors if you choose to share this request.

Brenda
