Prayer Walk at Michigan State University

Students at University Baptist Church continue to pursue a vision to see all peoples of the world know, worship and grow (KWaG) as disciples of Jesus Christ. A team of students gathered to start the fall semester with a prayer walk.

The team adopted an open and expectant posture to respond to God during the walk at Michigan Statue University (MSU).  If the Lord directed us to enter a building, we entered.  If the Spirit directed us to stop and speak to people, we trusted that God was moving.  As we prayed and walked, key scriptures and prayers were lifted to focus our efforts:
  • Luke 10:2 and a prayer that the Lord would send workers into the harvest field of MSU.  We prayed for students, other campus ministers and pastors;
  • Colossians 4:3 and a prayer that there would be open doors for the Word;
  • Matthew 10 and a prayer that God would reveal or raise up people of peace to be a gateway to the community;
  • 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 and a prayer for the blinders to be removed; for eyes to be opened.

Some of the prayer team was directed toward the Skandalaris Football Center.  As we walked and prayed through the Hall of History, we were heard an inquiry, "What are you guys doing?"  We turned to answer and were greeted by Mark Dantonio, the head MSU football coach.  He took our team on a tour of the football facility, introduced us to players and affirmed our efforts on the prayer walk.

Students at University Baptist Church continue to pursue a vision to see all peoples of the world know, worship and grow (KWaG) as disciples of Jesus Christ.  Through the power of prayer, the vision is unfolding at Michigan State University.
